AIT for Hypo-Sensitive Hearing

Berard method AIT is one of the few programs that is helpful for the treatment of Hypo-sensitive Hearing, hearing loss and other hearing impairments. AIT has been shown to normalize the hearing and the way the brain processes information so that we often find improved hearing both in terms of volume, clarity of sound and acuity as well as sound field discrimination or what some people call "cocktail party syndrome" (in other words, difficulty distinguishing foreground from background sounds).

AIT helps in many other related areas since hearing can affect language skills, mood, behavior and social issues. Once hearing is more normalized many of the issues diminish or clear up. For example if one can hear more accurately, one can speak more accurately and easily. People with hypo-sensitive hearing often get easily overwhelmed in noisy environments. Once the hearing is more normalized people are able to handle noisy or chaotic situations much easier.

AIT uses filtered and modulated music to help stimulate the audiological and neurological systems. Since AIT uses sound, which is vibrational, going into the areas of the brain where all the different glands and organs are that control different senses and systems of the body, we often see improvements not only in the hearing but in other areas such as vision, taste, smell, touch, balance, coordination, and hand writing among others.

Programs are individualized for each person based on a pre-screening evaluation.
